Skinny IT, a Frisco-based information technology (IT) service provider, is relocating its office and warehouse space to Frisco Park 25. The new facility will expand their current office and warehouse space by more than seven hundred percent and increase its in-house workforce substantially.
“At the rate we are expanding, we are expected to outgrow our current facilities this year,” said Sam Darwish, CEO of Skinny IT. “We need more space and a larger team to handle the demand from our clients to provide customized solutions and launch new business lines, and this new facility will meet that need.”
The Frisco Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors approved a Real Estate Sales Contract with Skinny IT at its December 2016 meeting, making Skinny IT the first company committed to build in Frisco Park 25. The company has an 8.89-acre lot under contract that will house a 130,000 square foot facility. Skinny IT plans to begin construction on the new property in the summer of 2017 with an expected completion of July 2019.
With the completion of the new facility, Skinny IT will expand its workforce to 150 in-house employees. The company will use this office space to engineer solutions and develop major proof of concepts for its clients. The new headquarters will be a state-of-the-art facility with a full-service restaurant, in-house gym and other amenities for the workforce. Additionally, the company will increase its warehouse space and serve as a central distribution center for all work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
“It’s an honor for this globally-focused IT company to continue to choose Frisco as home base for its corporate headquarters,” said Jim Gandy, president of the Frisco Economic Development Corporation. “Skinny IT is a great example of why Frisco Park 25 was created. The park is a good fit for growing companies who want to own and occupy their own building.”
Frisco Park 25 is a new business park launching in 2018. The park addresses the demand for shovel-ready sites zoned to accommodate tech/flex office space in Frisco. Frisco Park 25 meets that need with a proposed site plan for a modern, high-end commercial development that includes 14 lots on 216 acres zoned for industrial and commercial use.
