Skinny IT, a Frisco-based information technology (IT) service provider, today announced the acquisition of Installation & Service Technologies, Inc. (IST), a single-source solution provider for on-site service and repairs, to enhance the company’s ability to deliver on-site deployments for clients nationwide.

Previously, Skinny IT deployed its own on-site workers for high-volume orders. The acquisition of IST enhances Skinny IT’s ability to reach clients with tailored, on-site services, including surveys, project management, staging and kitting, installations, service contracts and depot repair.

“We emphasize the importance of superior, on-site service, ensuring clients that quality will be consistent with each interaction, and IST’s mission fits well within these high standards,” said Sam Darwish, CEO of Skinny IT. “IST is known for its complete life cycle coverage with innovative and responsive field support across multiple industries nationwide. We are confident this acquisition will be a smooth transition for clients and employees, and are looking forward to expanding into new verticals with the expertise IST brings.”

Acquiring IST into the Skinny IT brand advances the company’s vision to become a top nationwide IT service provider that improves business operations and overall productivity through the use of technology, creativity and flexibility. In addition, the combined entity will accelerate its specialty for main markets, including retail, restaurant, sports arenas and construction.

“IST has earned a distinct client rapport of continuous improvement and trustworthiness through the entirety of a project’s journey. We feel this acknowledgement, as well as our service capabilities, will only be enhanced as we transition into the Skinny IT brand and company,” said Jacob Horwitz, owner of IST. “Skinny IT has a clear vision of how clients and employees will benefit from a strong, combined workforce. We look forward to the company’s leadership and fresh initiatives to providing business IT solutions.”

Skinny IT, a Frisco-based information technology (IT) service provider, is relocating its office and warehouse space to Frisco Park 25. The new facility will expand their current office and warehouse space by more than seven hundred percent and increase its in-house workforce substantially.

“At the rate we are expanding, we are expected to outgrow our current facilities this year,” said Sam Darwish, CEO of Skinny IT. “We need more space and a larger team to handle the demand from our clients to provide customized solutions and launch new business lines, and this new facility will meet that need.”

The Frisco Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors approved a Real Estate Sales Contract with Skinny IT at its December 2016 meeting, making Skinny IT the first company committed to build in Frisco Park 25. The company has an 8.89-acre lot under contract that will house a 130,000 square foot facility. Skinny IT plans to begin construction on the new property in the summer of 2017 with an expected completion of July 2019.

With the completion of the new facility, Skinny IT will expand its workforce to 150 in-house employees. The company will use this office space to engineer solutions and develop major proof of concepts for its clients. The new headquarters will be a state-of-the-art facility with a full-service restaurant, in-house gym and other amenities for the workforce. Additionally, the company will increase its warehouse space and serve as a central distribution center for all work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

“It’s an honor for this globally-focused IT company to continue to choose Frisco as home base for its corporate headquarters,” said Jim Gandy, president of the Frisco Economic Development Corporation. “Skinny IT is a great example of why Frisco Park 25 was created. The park is a good fit for growing companies who want to own and occupy their own building.”

Frisco Park 25 is a new business park launching in 2018. The park addresses the demand for shovel-ready sites zoned to accommodate tech/flex office space in Frisco. Frisco Park 25 meets that need with a proposed site plan for a modern, high-end commercial development that includes 14 lots on 216 acres zoned for industrial and commercial use.

Skinny IT, a Frisco-based information technology (IT) service provider, today announced Circuit City has selected the company to be the consumer electronics retailer’s installation services provider.

Using Skinny IT’s new Services as a Merchandising SKU, or S.A.M.S., customers will have the option to have a field technician install their purchases for them. This post-purchase support will allow Circuit City to be a true full-service retailer for its customers.

“It is no longer enough for manufacturers and retailers to simply offer hardware and software for purchase. Consumers are demanding full-service support throughout the purchasing journey from buying recommendations to installation,” said Sam Darwish, CEO of Skinny IT. “S.A.M.S. is a smart services automation tool that offers a higher level of services all retailers should look to provide. We are excited Circuit City has decided to offer this solution in their new services strategy and look forward to assisting the company in rolling it out this year.”

Working as an extension of the Circuit City team, Skinny IT’s field certified technicians will ensure customers have the appropriate equipment, install and verify the technology is working properly, while consistently providing the highest level of customer service. In most cases, the technicians can offer same day or next day appointments regardless of location. Skinny IT will also ensure Circuit City customer service representatives are equipped to answer potential customer questions during the purchasing process of the installation option.

“When we began determining how we wanted to structure the new Circuit City, we knew installation had to be part of our services to stand out among others,” said Ronny Shmoel, CEO of Circuit City. “Through this partnership with Skinny IT, we will now be able to provide that full-service turnkey option to consumers who need help in that final installation stage.”

Circuit City will roll out this new service offering in the first quarter of 2018 when it deploys its updated branding and storefronts. A phased roll out with more robust offerings, such as an e-commerce site option, will be expected in the coming months.
